In a previous job I sat on an interview panel for a Communications Manager position. One of the candidates shared her story of how she developed a fertility clinic’s website. From her focus group research, she found out that most women and couples struggling with fertility would prefer not to see photos of babies online.
I can relate to this. For the longest time I didn’t want reminders of the baby or pregnancy I didn’t have yet. And if you’ve had a miscarriage or loss, you know it’s devastating.
Of course not everyone feels this way and this can change over time, but if you need to protect yourself from these images then take some control back. Here are 3 quick step-by-step guides to limit baby, parent and/or pregnancy ads on Google and Facebook and their partner owned sites including YouTube and Instagram. Remember: you can go back and undo these changes anytime. Good luck my dears!
